Here's some of the more recent comments about the Accu-Guide on the Quiltropolis email lists for Long-Arm quilting. http://www.quiltropolis.net/maillists/maillistsdetail.asp?catid=Quilting (This is a great email list with tons of info and lots of active participation.)
Some comments also came from www.longarmchat.com. It is another great resource that is fairly new.

Accu-Guide is about 3 by 5 with round indentations on each side as well as
on the top and the bottom. You
will guide your hopping foot to go around appliqué or echoing printed
patterns. Without this, it
will be very difficult to accurately trace patterns. It can be used for
SID but this is not the main purpose of this guide. I bought this and the
video about two month ago through Donita's website.
I watched the tape and started to use right away without any
problem. I did not even practice.
It is very easy to use. I
highly recommend it. Another
satisfied customer. Kay

asked for info on a tool to help with SID around applique. Last
fall I took a class with Donita Reeve and during the course of the class
with worked with LOTS of different rulers. One of the rulers we tried was
her Accu-guide. This is a great tool when working with applique. It does
require practice but it certainly makes a big difference in accuracy when
doing close work around applique. I have no affiliation.....just a
satisfied customer. Check
with our suppliers for this tool or go to Dontia's web site at: www.LoveToQuilt.com Lori

I
have the Accu-Guide, the little ruler with the U-shape cutout AND the
ruler with the just a hole for the hopping foot (it is cut so you can
spread the ruler apart to slip the foot into the hole). I use all of three
of them depending on what mood I'm in and what I'm doing. |
